It’s no news that that the Christmas/Yuletide Season is usually marked with celebrations, giftings, and hosting loved ones. This also implies that this season will come with extra spending for you. I am sure you do not want to have mental and financial stress in December, hence, it’s better you have a plan to cover this extra spending.
The first step is to create your Yuletide plan. This plan should cover the cost of your intended celebrations, giftings to others, end-year concerts/events and other expenses you feel would most likely occur during this period. Make adequate provisions for all of them!
The next thing is to set a funding allocation for this plan over the few months we have left till Christmas. Some people do get end-year bonus & other extra incomes from work, this would be a good way to fund your Yuletide plan. If you wouldn’t be getting any, I advise you equally split the cost of this plan over the incomes you’d be receiving till Christmas. This would help you not to choke up your December income.
Lastly, now that you have a plan, ensure you spend within the plan. I am sure you do not want to have a long January! Make adequate provisions for yuletide plan and resist and temptation to spend beyond your plan!
Happy planning!
To your financial independence and freedom!
